Prepaid cards to make payments on back taxes is totally unprofessional and out of line with how the irs works. The irs has even made public statements about this type of call. I am all paid on my taxes so this is a obvious criminal at work. They have call centres in India paying poor India pennies a day to make these calls I'm sure. They will try to scare you with extortion threats of fake back taxes you most certainly do not owe. If you don't get registered mail then you are not dealing with the real irs. Their demands for prepaid cards as a method of payment should be highly suspect. They are known criminals and picking up the phone is risky if you are unaware of the scam. They are Indian accented and use American names which is why I knew they were a scam right away. Interest research showed me the rest. Don't trust them BS. Hang up!!! May 25, 2016, 6:48 pm Same message as above, robotic voice message. This is a SCAM. This 213-141-5162 is not in service when I call to check it out. Very interesting! I also received the same IRS lawsuit SCAM at the same day from other number 631-240-0398 from NY, it also not in service when I call back.
