May 23, 2016, 5:58 pm Caller claims to be Magistrate Judge with the United States Treasury regarding a grand jusry Federal Offense. This is the third round with this phone number, same accent, same issue. I have threatened them with lawsuits and they disappear for awhile but come back with the same threats. May 24, 2016, 11:51 am This person calls me every day on my cell phone and threatens me that I owe back taxes, which I don't. When i challenge the caller, they threaten me that someone is on the way to arrest me. When I don't answer, they leave a voice mail. This is very annoying and this number needs to be deactivated. July 7, 2016, 6:38 pm Someone calling from (214) 396-3505 is running one of the IRS telephone scams. When you answer the phone (or your voice mail starts recording), you hear a prerecorded, artificially sounding female voice (it might be computer generated, or masked). The recording states that "IRS is filing a lawsuit against you," and that you need to call (214) 396-3505 immediately. It's obvious that this is a scam. The IRS does not do business this way. Also, the area code 214 is used for Dallas, TX numbers, not for Washington DC. Notice the insidious part of this scam. If you fall for the scam, you end up calling them and, the first thing they'll do is ask you for your your social security number "to make sure they have the right account." Don't fall for it.
