Odd call from someone who said my my pc was sending signals to their sensors about a virus infection. Wants to assist me in fixing it remotely. I've heard of these people on the news a few months ago so I already knew how to react. The news story I heard showed one of these people threatening the home owner with death for insulting him and rejecting service.

Fake take support scam. The ftc has labelled these scams as misleading because the whole premise of the call is to fake tech support which makes you trust them and then they sell you fake tech support memberships and freeware as a deceptive way to keep the fake virus infection from repeating.

Indian accented losers wanted remote access to my computer. They are young and stupid. Just play along for fun and pretend you are computer illiterate until they get frustrated and yell as you. I told them I was an expert in the end so it was ok and they said "Fine keep your virus infection!!!" ahahahahahhahaa

I saw 'Brown Kenneth D" on the caller id and it was some Indian fellow talking about virus infections. These people are scammers, very famous scammers that have been on various news stations throughout the country. The real purpose of the call is to fake tech support so you will trust them and buy their sales package to to prevent further virus infections when you never had one to begin with.

Some loser calling to tell me that something was wrong with my computer and that he needed to remotely fix it for me free of charge. He said my ip address has registered a virus on their monitors and that's why he was calling. He needed to fix the virus to stop further network infection. All lies.

Technical suppourt fraud. The entire purpose of the call is to make you believe that they are good trustworthy helpful tech support people looking out for you. Once they are done faking the fix on you rcomputer with remote access then they wish to sell you technical support memberships for hundreds of dollars along with repackaged freeware that is $0 online if you download it yourself. As the US Government's FTC has said, these people are "misleading."

Indian tech cheaters. They are not even from the US most likely. FTC calls this scam "very misleading" and it's all about selling you membership subscriptions to fake tech services (or real) based on lies that they fixed your computer for free first. They are making millions of dollars with this scam as hundreds of dollars per person falling for the scam makes it high profit.

Received a call for this number early in the morning. A man with an Indian accent said he was from "the Computer Technical Service Department" and that they had been receiving "error messages and warnings" from my computer and he needed me to log in to my computer right away so he could help me fix it. I immediately insulted him for being lazy, stupid, and worst of all uncreative as everyone knows about this ridiculously tired scam. Told him to find a new one and referenced his stupidity again. He hung up. I'm a little disappointed that he didn't want to engage in a verbal joust as some of the other scammers I've heard/read about. I think I would have enjoyed that.

Ha! Got the same call as everyone else. I was laying down when they called and just played along.

The lady asked, "is your computer on" I said yes. (Of course I'm no where near my computer) She goes on to say, "what's on your screen?". I told her, "Login page". She said let me transfer you to my supervisor, this is very important"

Supervisor: Can you go to google page
me: ok

Sup: ok now gonto top white part, donuou see it?
Me: uh-huh

Sup: now type: www. Do you have it?
Me: what was that again?

Sup: (speaking very slow) w. w. w. dot
Me: Ohh the ones that look like two v's together?

Sup: Yes! yes! those.
Me: (after about 2 min)...ok got it.

Sup: ok, www.support.me
Me: ok got it. (mind you, I'm still in my bed)
I asked him, if this allows him access to my computer...of course he said no. (I know better)

Just FYI: That site takes you to a "log me in rescue.com" which is a support connection site. They have you put in a code that then downloads a program then allows them full access to your computer. DO NOT DO THIS!!!

Me: So what IP number do you have for me?

Sup: I can't tell you until you log in. I can tell you your are registered under...he had my husband and my name...but we do have a listed number so no surprise there. (Still have a land-line)

Sup: You are not computer Savvy so you do not know these things.

Me: How do you know I'm not computer Savvy, You don't know me!

Me: What company are you calling from and what is your phone number?

Sup: Charleston NC - USBcare

Me: ok so what is your customer care phone number?

Sup: I will give it to you after you log in and we're done. Then I will give it to you.

He was VERY pushy and not willing to give me a number. When I asked if he was trying to scam me, he got very quiet. Then another lady came on the phone.

Lady: What do you see on your computer?

Me: I'm still waiting on your phone number your associate didn't seem to have...

Lady: (long pause) 757-181 5345

Received another scam call stating my computer is sending out signals infecting other computers. At first I played their game claiming stupidity about computers, but never giving them any personal info, once it got to a certain point, I'd tell them to hold on that I've got a call coming in & would hang up on them. I've gotten calls from all different numbers from this scam across the US.

Being retired law enforcement, I've also threatened them by reporting them to the Attorney General, when I've said this, I usually get f--k you! Guess they're sore losers if they don't get their way. But they will not stop calling until you answer the phone, I've gotten up to 10-12 calls a day! Till I answer the phone and yes, each caller has such a heavy accent, it's extremely hard to understand them.

At 938 I got another call from the same number, this time without the name and the lady started the same scam all over. Same complaint as everyone else. They are actually calling me at work. The guy actually tried to act like a representative of our company's tech support department. Those actual representatives provide us with an alias that confirms they are legit. I asked him for an alias, he hung up. Thick Indian accent but claimed his name was Michael. He called back, same ordeal. Once again, I asked for the alias. He started listing off random numbers, none of which were valid, of course. He was very angry when I called out his obvious scam and kept saying "C'mon baby" which is demeaning and unprofessional, of course. He stopped calling when I threatened to involve authorities.

Calls from 304-743-8823 are scam/phishing/fraud. The caller (male with an Indian accent, in my case) represents himself as someone from Windows (there's no one "from Windows," that would be Microsoft, by the way), alleging that my computer was sending them info saying I had a virus. I responded that that wasn't true at all, and that I'm an IT person myself. He said, "No, you don't know anything!" I said, "Wrong, tech support is my job." And I hung up. You hang up, too!
