March 8, 2016, 2:53 pm short story: Had accent from India (but an said his name was Bill), said my computer reported many errors they had to get on my computer remotely to complete a fix for microsoft windows - I asked how my linux reported to his windows and he hung up. I finally answered to find that a man with an Indian accent is telling me he is from Microsoft and about a virus that would crash my computer. I asked how I know he is telling me the truth and he spouts off all these computerese numbers that only Microsoft would know. As he is doing this I google his calling number and disconnect the phone. Obvious callers from India - claiming to be from Microsoft calling out of "concern" for error messages coming from your PC. When I told them Microsoft does not call consumers, he told me he was from the Microsoft PC Department. Very sad. My guess is some older people will buy into this, so this is an elder abuse scam. March 11, 2016, 4:29 pm Constant calls daily from this supposed cell phone number issued to David Ross. I am now running Tru Caller block software on cell. I believe 1st call i accepted he did state he was from Microsoft and i had a virus. Funny thing I have been laid up in bed for a year and only been using Apple Ipod. My Windows based computers been sitting idle for over a year. I still get multiple calls daily. These callers can get phony numbers from Google and Google play, so as far as i am concerned, they are equally involved in these foreign scammers actually located in 3rd world countries. Most of the time I just get mad and yell at them but that did not work. So the last time I acted like I was mad at my son saying that the other day I walked in on my son who is 15 watching Porn on the computer. I kept them going on & on for 45 min then acted like I was going to let them hook up and acted dumb Like my computer could not hook up. Started crying and acting like I was yelling my 15 year old that it was all his fault. So I have decided that I have an old computer (has Windows 98 LoL but still works) and I will let them hook up to that one and try to mess with there computer the next time they call. I said, "You are going to tell me I have a virus and only you can fix it, right?" He confirmed that. When I told him to stop calling me he said I had to pay him $147 to make him stop calling. March 15, 2016, 1:03 pm These people have been harassing me unmercifully since mid-December, literally 30 or more calls, occasionally 3x/day. I yell at them to stop calling me, tell them I'm on the do-not-call list, and that I file a complaint on every single call they make to me. Yet they still try to talk over me to push their scam. A friend tells me that FCC can fine these companies for every complaint that's filed with FCC. Hope that's true, but don't know how to find that out. March 22, 2016, 1:49 pm Received a call from 646-588-1663. Someone tried to talk to me in a thick Indian accent. Finally, a male got on the line who could speak English fluently. I asked him to give me specific information about one of the error messages my computer was sending him. He replied that, legally, they can't give out that information over the phone. He wanted me to go to my computer and use the Windows Event Log Viewer to display some errors. This file always has a bunch of messages in it, and they are never sent anywhere by any Windows operating system. It's just a scam. Caller Company: Not given

I tried talking to them and told them I was on a Do not call list, he said that didn't matter because I signed an agreement with windows? I have hung up on them, screamed at them, and sent to voice mail. Nothing has worked! I repeatedly asked if there was an emergency in his family (he had an accent that seemed to be from India), but he didn't answer. Finally he got tired of my asking and hung up. On one call I told them they had reached the NY Attorney General's office working with Interpol and that we were tracking their scam to Mumbai and would be find their call center within a few days and arrest all of them. Caller told me he was Robert and working at an address in New York. Later after a few more calls I went to the store and bought a marine air horn. The next time they called I answered and started talking to them. I told them I could not hear them very well and I started talking quietly as I went outside. April 5, 2016, 1:49 pm I have gotten called from this guy with an Indian accent (probably fake) 14 times over the course of a couple days. Tried everything from threatening to sue for harassment, to simply hanging up or ignoring. Now, I generally just say, "Can I put you on hold for a sec" and just let my phone sit till they get annoyed and hang up XD It's kinda funny sometimes to mess with them back. If you are having a SERIOUS problem with them though (like calling at work every hour....), look up how to block their number on your phone; or check with the FTC :/ Suing is an option but I don't know if they really even live in New York....If you find them, sue the heck out of them for all of us please Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

April 5, 2016, 8:27 pm I've received a few calls from "Windows" now. The first time I told them I had a mac and I didn't understand why windows would be calling me. He then changed his story to "Congratulations, you've won a PC!" The next time I played along for a bit, and then called the woman out on the scam. She told me it wasn't a scam and that I'd be sorry. I asked her for information on where she was calling from, but she refused to answer. Then she hung up on me. This is a great way to relieve pent-up stress.
