I'm receiving calls from this number 646-588-1773 saying they work for Microsoft PC. I have told him repeatedly to stop calling me and they will not quit. I had to report the number to Verizon to block the number.

Phony caller saying they are with Microsoft. Do not let them get on your computer or else you might have to call me to fix it. They will tell you your computer has errors and then will try to charge you to fix them.

I had him going for about 15 minutes making like I was believing his story. Then I let him onto the joke and he fumbled and said he was just practicing. We chatted for a bit, he told me he was calling from NY and I said where I lived. He fumbled for something to say then politely made his exit. It was hilarious.

I guess people just fall for stuff like this without checking. The guy obviously thought I was at my computer at 11 AM on weekday. He said he will call me back on his next shift. Microsoft says they will never call unsolicited and would have no idea about errors on my computer. When he calls back I'm going to find the most offensive rap song I can and just let him listen to that until he hangs up. BTW cops don't call you and threaten to arrest From 911 either.

A guy with really bad accent called saying that my computer is downloading errors from the Internet and they can fix them for free. He claimed that he has all my info, like my email address, my CLSID for computer and IP address. I told him I don't use computer, I use iPad and he said than it was earlier, before iPad. I continued playing games with this guys (it was entertaining), until he hung up on me him self. What a relief. :)

Being a computer guy. I decided to let them do their thing in a controlled environment and just see all the different things they decide to do... I have had them delete all my files and I have had them break windows claiming they would "fix" it if I paid. I know a lot of people that fall for this kind of stuff.

They have called repeatedly and I have asked them to stop calling. I also told the guy today that he was full of s**t regarding Windows PC issue and then he had a reply I had to ask a couple times what he said as he was speaking low and was breaking up. He then said maybe you can hear this and said loudly a sexual comment. I won't answer again and will have to learn how to block #'s

These idiots have called me 3 times now. A different name every time but they all have thick Indian accents, little understanding of the English language outside what's on their script, and claim to be with Microsoft support and that they've been receiving error messages from my PC.

All 3 calls came from the same number 646-588-1773 (NY, USA), but this is probably just the number their spoofer put up, I'd put money on them being in India.

I haven't upgraded my operating system recently, nor have I contacted Windows. Obvious scam through and through.

The short of it is, either block them or have an elaborate plan to screw with them should this number show up on your phone.

I've got the same thing. They called me number of times with the same story that my windows computer has error messages and that they are the Microsoft partners. last time they called me I said let me check your company information on the internet and I said hold on I'll check you on the internet.. But he hanged up the phone on me. I still went on the internet and I found who they really are..

Why can't our phone systems keep these "jabroni's" from calling or IC3.Gov shut them down ? numerous complaints = our tax dollars failing to protect !

Funny part is I DO work for Microsoft in the product support services. We're all been briefed on this scam. FBI can do anything as they are over seas. Here's what I do, when he goes through his routine, I ask him his extension number. Wait a few seconds and I say I don't see his name or extension in the employee directory. Then I ask what building he's in. Now he usually gets rude. Then I identify I work for Microsoft and tell him I'm quite capable of fixing my own computer, and thank him for staying on the line long enough for me to track the call. They hang up every time. My thought is the longer I can keep him on the phone, the less time he can scam somebody else.

I got a call a few minutes ago from this number but all I heard was people talking in the background and no one responded when I repeatedly said "Hello". I've had calls from other numbers (e.g. 1663) in the same area code and exchange saying they are with Microsoft or Norton and wanting to "fix" my PC. Having worked in IT for 40 years, I sometimes have fun by answering with "IT Help Desk" or asking which of my multiple PC's have the problem they want to fix. I keep blocking the phone numbers but they keep using new ones. I'm thinking that I will see how long I can keep one of these guys on the phone if I get another call and I have time. Or maybe I'll ask if they will buy AMWAY products from me.

They called me and I deferred them to the next day to call me back. I researched what this call was about and discovered it was a scam. So the next day when he called I told him I called Windows and talked with them about my issue. I told him they said it wasn't covered under warranty and it would cost. He told me it's a free service, then I switched my story and told him they said I could send it in for free and he believed me. I had him going for a while and he continued to get frustrated and would repeatedly talk over me. I eventually just told him out right I know this is a scam. He asked how I knew and I told him I talked to Windows about you and they said they didn't know anything about you (which I really didn't talk to Windows at all lol). He quickly hung the phone up! Those scumbags deserve to be messed with! Hopefully I could distract him for enough time so he wouldn't be able to scam someone else.

I just got a call from that number today, and told them that they have the wrong number, then hung up, and then blocked the number. That's all one has to do. The FTC can only take complaints. They can't go after people in foreign countries who make these annoying calls. However, the more people complain, the more the FTC, FBI, and Homeland Security will investigate these people.

I got a call and an Indian sounding man asked for a Brenda. I told him wrong number and that was that.

He called again, saying he worked for Microsoft, and I asked him to verify when I purchased said computer. He gave the name Faraz or something. He asked me if I was by my computer to help me and I hung up, and looked here to see what was going on.

He then called a third time, and I tore him a new butthole. I asked him for employee license numbers, his supervisor, his base of operations, I made him lie and lie and lie until I caught him in one of the lies.

Be careful out there, these fools are trying to trick you.

If you are bored - play along. I acted very dumb and slow but oh so concerned about my computer. He asked me to go on-line then asked why it was taking so long... told him my IBM 386 with Windows 3.2 takes a long time on my 600 baud dial-up modem. Be patient, about another half hour should do it.
