March 27, 2017, 7:39 pm Received call. Female with heavy Asian accent. Claims she is with Wyndalls Technical Service (never heard of them). Claims my computer has been flagged - virus on my computer. She can fix. Needs me to sign on to my computer. Asked her to give me examples of info on my computer. She told me I had to be signed on. I told her that was certainly fishy. She said 'what?' I laughed and said do people really fall for this? She said Hello? Hello? I said "what? U suddenly can't hear me now? She said she can hear..needs me to sign on. Told her that wasn't going to happen. April 7, 2017, 5:01 pm Microsoft Tech Support - Bah Humbug (also from 5069...blocked them both). My poor little 87 year old friend fell victim to this scam. Once they had her credit card info they demanded $100 a month or they would damage her computer so everything on it would be destroyed. She told them "no" and they did something so she couldn't boot her computer any more. A trip to the local computer guy and $70 later, it was fixed but it was a horrible experience for her. April 7, 2017, 6:07 pm These scammers are relentless. Imagine all of the uninformed and elderly they must rope into their scam. Horrible! Rec'd 4 hang up calls already today. It's never smart to answer, but I'd love to say that I'm with Charming and if I get their credit card, I'd help them wipe their bum because they're obviously full of $h! . April 8, 2017, 2:30 pm ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We should do something against these JOKERS, who think they can scam everyone with their BULL SHIT! DO NOT ANSWER any calls from UNKNOWN numbers and BLOCK THEM - if you can ... that's what I do, then I erase them from my phone forever, but somehow another number that "has been disconnected and/or no longer in service" finds its way back to my personal cellphone.
