This is common for junk debt collectors or fake scamming legal firms. They need to use fear as a tool to get payments from people from impossible to collect debts so sounding serious and ambiguous is how they instill that fear. November 14, 2015, 6:57 am I too had someone calling about an "Important Personal Business Matter" and they refused to tell me what it was about without perfectly verifying my identity first. November 24, 2015, 9:46 pm Odd call from a "RPM" on my caller id. They said they needed to discuss an important personal business matter, but that they could only speak to me if I can prove or verify that I the person they say they are calling about. This is very common behavior for debt collectors as they have to avoid privacy law restrictions that prevent them from speaking about debts or the nature of the debts to protect people from embarrassment. I don't have any debts on record that I am aware of as no letters have ever come in the mail. Legit collectors send letters...it's that's simple. January 28, 2016, 8:35 pm Got a call, asking for me. I claimed i was my sister and asked to put me on the do not call, they claim they did. However i have a family mobile account that isnt paid off yet because i used the account for one day out of that cycle (yes im aware of how their cycle goes) and they charged me for the whole month. I paid off my ONLY other debt. So i know its from them. But i dont understand how they got my number seeing as how it got changed. . . The rude person stated it was a business matter and demanded I identify myself but refused to tell me who he was. I told him no, I would not identify myself and how did HE get my phone number?
