They (paraphrase) said that a civil suit was filed against my husband and if he doesn't call back they could no longer represent him. Called them back because of the SS # (threat?) Very rude women who represented a collection service picked up. She refused to acknowledge why or how she had the SS #. She insisted that my husband defaulted on a loan. Would not take NO ! you have the wrong person. Claimed that my phone# was associated with this debt. Unbelievably rude & abusive. She did give me the address of the person she was looking for. And you guessed it...it wasn't mine. Oddly, she claims she was collecting for a cell phone company. Isn't it strange that she didn't have the cell phone #? 2 thoughts. 1. An actual (crummy) collection agency or 2. An attempt steal his SS#. My guess...the latter. Documents can be very convincingly fake. Do not give them money! Call your debtor directly. January 24, 2017, 12:04 pm I just received a call from number 215 3302899 and they left a messege stating that this is my last chance to comply and since I've been on cooperative, an investigation of the parties involved will be set against me. They have called before with a straight forward voice mail, in which I called back at that time, and they mentioned my daughters name saying she owes on a Victoria secret account and need to pay $2800 when I do believe that she only owed $ 800?? First off, they contacted my cell phone and I never gave them permission to have this number, and I don't know how they got it? There last message was a little harsh. They said if i don't call them they are going to serve me with court papers for a hearing. I called back and the last four digits of the social did not match my husbands...I am unsure as discover card had called us the day before telling us that our account was past due...but it isn't...
