May 24, 2016, 2:06 pm Received same message 5/24/16. I was terrified and called the number back, the "officer" threatened to have me arrested unless I pay. I was told the IRS did an investigation between 2009 and 2014 and found that I was being deceptive on my tax return. I told him I had no money and would turn myself in. I hope this is a scam. May 25, 2016, 10:14 am I got a call from them 202-754-8180 and was given the name of Sr. Officer Luna Martinez with GS1101 Badge#. saying the same thing, that I had been declining in response to their documents sent to me via usps mail and that now I have two choices, either settle in court or out of court, of if I am not American, that I will be deported back to my home country. Don't fall for the Scum sucking SCAMMERS!!! If you don't recognize the number don't answer. If they need to talk to you they will leave a message. and depending on the message you can decide whether to call them back or not. In my case 9 out of 10 unrecognized # is not worth my time. The thickly accented voice of the caller informed me that it was a "criminally acted" to use an "untrue SS#". I told him that I was aware of that and so was the FBI agent tracing the call. May 27, 2016, 5:52 am SCAM. I received two identical robot messages on my voicemail, "Officer Daniel Wisemen of the Internal Revenue Service". Same case number as all the others. I believe this call is potentially dangerous because, in addition to being a scam, it could potentially trigger a serious of negative reactions affecting more that just the person being scammed. Impersonating a law enforcement officer is a serious offense in the United States, one that can result in prison terms of up to three years. This fact, combined with the generic robot voice leads me to believe that these scammers are operating from outside of the United States. Be safe out there! Just got another call from a woman with a thick accent saying the lines were being "federally recorded, okay, this conversation is being federally recorded" and started going in about how I had a lawsuit filed against me. Stopped her and asked why I haven't been served any paperwork or received a letter in the mail and she hung up. Don't pay any attention to them, this is absolutely a scam.
