July 13, 2016, 4:47 pm I received a call from this number stating that my name was picked from the United states government and qualified for a grant that, I would not have to pay back. She than asked me how would I like to receive the money through my checking, bank card, moneygram or western union. I told if you can mail it to me in a check would be best. She said that they cannot mail it. I told her that is very weird because I have a friend that has received a grant from the government and they send it to him by mail. She said that must not be legit I told her maybe but because of so many scams and frauds I don't believe what she is telling me is true. When asked how I wanted to receive money direct deposit, bank card. I told them to mail me a check. She wanted my checking account #. July 16, 2016, 11:35 am My mom and I have been getting calls under this number and it has been coming up as from Egypt so we didn't answer it. We would get at least 4 calls an hour for 2 days. This morning, we finally answered just for fun and they said we won a grant and they wanted the card number. They said. "Is this (my moms full name)?" And we didn't answer and they claimed to be the Government. We were confused and my mom said, "Then why does your number keep coming up as Egypt?" And they started stuttering and just like "wh-what? My, my number shouldn't be coming up..." It was totally a scam, so we said for them to delete our number from their phone list, and to never call again. July 22, 2016, 11:53 am I have received multiple calls from this number over the course of the past few months. Last month, I asked the man that I spoke with to "take me off of your list." He responded with attitude and asked me how in the world I could not want a grant. Our call ended when I hung up. This week, the number began to call me again. This time, the number was coming up as Egypt but after receiving three phone calls in 45 seconds, I answered. I again asked to be taken off of the list. This man told me that was not possible and, if I wanted to be removed from the list, I would have to send a request form to the US Government. I informed him that if they would not stop calling, I would simply block their number and hung up. I immediately blocked the number. Don't engage these people. August 4, 2016, 2:59 pm The man told me that I was selected for this grant because I had not filed bankruptcy in the past 6 months and have never been convicted of a felony. I laughed and told him he had the wrong girl, because both of those are not accurate. He then hung up.

The woman had an accent and spoke very rapidly. She said her name was ? Angelica? Her accent was more like Hindu speaking. December 21, 2016, 10:13 am I just got this call as well. It was a Filipino who got very angry when I asked her "what do I have to give you? My personal info, bank account so that you can rip me off of all my money?" She said "I did not ask for that", so I said " then send me the check!" She hung up on me!! Such a scam!! January 11, 2017, 5:55 pm they have 2 new numbers....first a woman with a very strong India accent calls you from 1-800-479-8099...she talks very fast i couldnt understand her....but she fed me the bullshit about the grant for $9,00 and gave me what she called a confirmation number then told me to call 206-451-5297 in which some guy started feeding me the same line of bullshit and then told me i had to spend $250 on some i tune card....complete scam....i laughed very hard at the dude and hung up on him... January 12, 2017, 6:00 pm Received a phone call from 800-479-8099 gentlemen caller said I was randomly picked out by a government drawing calming I won $9,000.00 when I asked him what he wanted from me he said nothing I just need to confirm your name and address (email) which he got all correct (SCARY) told me to write down my approval ID number and asked me to call 206-451-5297 when I called a lady answered asked me for the approval code which I gave her and she proceeded to say I won 9,000.00 and if she could get my bank information or if I can go to a Walmart or Kroger etc. to receive cash in hand so it could be direct deposited I told her if he had my address already as the previous caller had mentioned why not mail me the check, she stated they were not able to mail the check because of privacy measures --- LOL --- I knew this was a scam all along which is why I looked this up and decided to post it here for other to be for warned. I have also reported this information to the authorities and called them back and told them they were scammers and that I had reported them to law enforcement. They hung up on me and when I tried calling back a fax number beeping sound came on the line....Callers be ware.
