This number is also being used around the USA for political calls for various different election campaigns or causes. Either leaders trying to get elected or non-profit causes. Could be anything really as the number seems to be some random number people are using to disguise their identity. So if you like your privacy and only want to speak to friends and family it's a safe bet to block this call to keep your home quiet.

A very thick Indian accented woman called from the "U.S. Department of Grants" and told me I was eligible for a $9000 grant. I looked up this on the internet and the grant department seems to have a website page that lists this scam as a big problem with fraud. They are misrepresenting themselves and trying to rip people off with lure offers of the grants to get you to hand over credit card details or make prepayments that can't be trace at all.

I got a Us Government Grant scam offer on this line. The value of the grant was for $7000 and they wanted a prepayment to collect the grant money with a green dot card at a local grocery store or pharmacy. Thankfully I did some research on this number it's a big hoax scam that is making millions of dollars ripping people off with the prepayments. They are untraceable and easy for criminals to get away with this crime. The criminals may be living in India using advance phone technology with ip services and spoofing to hide their locations and get away with massive amounts of robocalls.

The person claimed to be an investigator looking for someone in my family over a debt. The said they reserved the right to "concealment of collateral" which I don't understand at all. Refused to inform me of their license # or location. Said they were private firm. She then hung up on me at the end. No way to know if this is a legit caller or not. The numbers of the phone number lead me to believe it's a faked number to hide their identity.

This number represents a scam. In my case a "grandson"tearfully calls me from an out of state jail. He explains he is there for a friends funeral. After 2 glasses of wine he is arrested for a DUI and was also involved in an accident but witnesses will testify that he was not at fault. He needs me to send thousands of dollars to cover bail. It is 3 days before Christmas..after the "jail" ends his call his "legal aid attorney" calls, explaining he can get him off and expunge his record if I will send a stated amount of money in a money cable to an address in yet another state(N.J.) attorney speaks with jersey accent and very poor grammar. I fell for this and sent the money. Shortly after I was again contacted telling me the situation had changed and the judge was ordering a much higher bail. Scary scenarios like manslaughter were suggested. At this point it was clear to me that I was being scammed. This is a very abbreviated version of all that was said. Looked up to check whether a Max Morgan, the name of the alleged attorney, was licensed in the state of Ohio. Cleveland is supposed to be where the arrest and jailing took place. He was not listed as a licensed attorney. The money gram was to be sent to a Zebulon Johnson in Bordentown,N.J. I believe everything took place in Jersey. In an attempt to verify this story I asked to get in touch with the jail. The "attorney" gave me a number and the info was in fact verified by a very nice "Cleveland policeman" who most certainly was one of the scammers. When I called my hometown police they were very familiar with this scam but did not feel they could be helpful. In Addison the attorney also used this number: 800 405 2109
