September 26, 2016, 5:40 pm This is just another scam operation out of the state of Washington. They say they are with "The Treasury Department," but are just trying to rob people. I THINK it's the same people who are posing as "The Internal Revenue Service" who have been also been calling from the same state (phone number 206-483-0025). September 26, 2016, 6:47 pm Just heard yet another message from a scammer saying they were with the US treasury. Threatened by saying, failure to respond would put me in front of a grand jury. It was a static-filled message from a man with an accent, claiming to be Kevin Mason, who ended the call by saying,"let us help you." Couldn't be farther from the truth! September 27, 2016, 10:50 am 253-205-8865 auburn washington when I asked for ID and name and department, I got: badge number 11789 "william oliver" (and a more staticky east/south asian voice I've never heard...) "IRS Department of legal affairs" Caller claimed I was about to be arrested "in 45 minutes" but both addresses he quoted as mine & to where he'd be sending the police were nowhere near right.
