April 20, 2015, 1:10 pm This is a big time scam. They try to tell you that common windows errors on your computer are signs that you have a virus infection that is infecting other people. These common windows errors are actually a sign of normal computer operation. Don't believe anything you hear on the phone. It's all a very mislead campaign to sell you fake tech support contracts. April 26, 2015, 8:02 am This is what I would call a "white scam." Legally they don't steal anything from you. Everything is with your consent and they don't do any strange billing behind your back. However, what they do do is mislead you a lot. They mislead you that they are tech support people who are helping you fix a real problem in order to make you buy products off them such as support memberships and software (which is free elsewhere). May 7, 2015, 9:47 pm A fake windows scammer trying to fool me into letting them hack my computer. They wanted me to change settings on my computer to remotely fix the "problem", but I just pretended I was too stupid to follow their instructions until they gave up and yelled me for being an idiot. May 12, 2015, 4:13 pm I just got a call from someone saying they were from "tech support" to deal with viruses in my computer. The web address he had me type in was "121usahelp.com" and I put it into Google and this address came up with information similar to what came up for "309-474-0863" at badnumbers (here) The guy said he was from 'tech support' for Windows, and wanted to show me how to get rid of viruses on my computer. I (stupidly) let him get to where he wanted to get my ID number, which he had said he had. I didn't give it to him. I then looked the web address he had me type in, "121usahelp.com," and put it into Google; this address came up with information similar to what came up for "309-474-0863" at badnumbers (here)- [google maps also came up, showing that he was in southeast Asia somewhere.] I did not give him the ID number, but he does seem to have left a program called "ammyy admin v3.4 - free" and got rid of AVAST- does anyone know how to get rid of the program they left? their phone # is 1 404 891 5588, and they came up as "GADS1" on my phone Caller Type: Unknown
