December 11, 2014, 4:42 pm Received call from this number, with display of 'asterix', from somebody claiming there was a problem with the Microsoft licence on my computer. Familiar with the scam so strung him along for a while making him explain himself over and over. Then innocently asked how this was possible considering our computer was Linux (one of them is, we have a few computers in this house). Eventually he hung up. Eventually he hung up. December 15, 2014, 11:43 am Rec'd call today from 416-362-9842 - guy with accent claimed to be from Windows Tech support but I cleverly lied and said "What does Windows have to do with a MacIntosh computer ??" March 11, 2015, 8:21 pm A Microsoft help scam. They want to remotely connect to your computer and mess around inside after lying to you about virus infections. These people sounded foreign and they became extremely rude with me after I played with them for 20 minutes lying that I was trying to help them. August 29, 2015, 5:59 pm Another pc tech virus fixing scam. Indian accented voices. Males. Very rude if you resist them trying to remote access your computer. I pretended to be a network admin who could fix the problem with lines like "It's ok I'm a trained administrator so I'll take care of it" and they got very angry at me telling me that I was to blame for the infection and would have to live with it now with a screwed up computer.
