September 6, 2014, 11:48 am I just got this call. Phone would ring once and then stop. It happened several times in a row. Originally 'no data' was sent on my caller-ID, so I picked up out of curiosity. (silly me!) Before I could say hello, a woman spoke in French, saying, "Pardon, blah-blah-blah..." and then hung up. Then later the phone number 438-793-5481 and "Quebec" showed up as the last call. Someone on another website stated, "Yes, they call to see when you are home. They are paid to do this by legitimate companies, so don't be so quick to let them off the hook just yet. The way it works is they hire people, often out of the country so they are not violating American Do Not Call list. They are checking when you are home then they hand that info off to American telemarketers who are polite about asking if you want to be taken off the list. Since I signed up with /verizen service earlier this year i have received 10 times more spam calls than normal... Makes one wonder who all they hand out your info to...... A bunch of crap! We pay our bills then have to be harassed by stupid telemarketers... Our government is lazy or they could do something about these telemarketers and these identity thieves.... March 5, 2015, 6:11 pm I believe that this is some kind of french survey or french telemarketing scheme. The voice was a female and clearly french. I couldn't understand a word she was saying. Sounds like a telemarketer or opinion research caller, but all in the french language. If you are not french then I guess you are not missing out on much.
