July 4, 2013, 11:29 am There has to be a way for the public to be relieved from having to deal with these sort of calls. All the technology that is available out there is the reason we are subjected to these annoying calls, there has to be some way of using this same technology to stop them and not at a cost to the public. It is a vicious circle where the bottom line is the public is the one that gets screwed one way or the other. Received the call on my cell, ID said wireless caller, did not answer, no VM. July 5, 2013, 10:53 pm Got a phone call (12:00pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize. (Does this mean that they are involved in Interstate Fraud?) They, of course, left no message. As always, I didn't answer, but looked up the number here. I am on the National Do-Not-Call List, and have been for over a couple of years now. (I guess this is our government at work for us.) I'm going to AND to and see if that can get the government to work for me, and stop these calls. (Yes I will go through all those steps.) July 9, 2013, 12:47 pm This number called. Did not know who it was. I looked it up and found these complaints and others on different websites. I have an app on my phone that once added to the blacklist it never even rings. Just plain gets blocked. July 11, 2013, 1:41 am I got a call from this number. It was a recorded message telling me that I'd won a cruise in the Bahamas. I hung up after about 5 seconds and placed a complaint with the do not call registry. Nothing will happen, of course. The DNC registry has no teeth in it at all. They keep calling anyway. July 12, 2013, 11:46 am I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, especially 1-800 numbers, so I don't know who it was or what they wanted. All that showed up on my caller ID was the number and "AZ-USA". I assume it was a telemarketing or phishing call. I'm on the "do not call registry for all the good it does. July 12, 2013, 11:39 pm Got caught in a loop with this one. They called and called and called for half an hour until I finally heard the Bahamas taped message. Right at the end it asks you to dial 9 if you want to be removed from their list and that seemed to do the trick. At least they haven't called back yet.
