They also have a warnings available on the irs website about these kinds of calls are complete scams with nothing to do with the real irs at all. August 22, 2015, 7:35 pm Indian scammers with deep accents trying to fool you that you are behind on your taxes or evading taxes criminally. They will demand payments sometimes in the thousands of dollars and this is all fraud. The real government has been quite vocal about these scams. September 14, 2015, 11:12 pm Big time fraud attempt here. Wanted over $2200 from me and accused me of tax evasion. Just an extortion attempt. Fear is their weapon of choice here. If you don't get scared then you will win. Just hang up if it's not too late. You owe no money and you will get mail from the IRS for real debts. Not phone threats with no verification. The real government doesn't act unprofessionally and they are quite patient in the process of collecting funds for unpaid taxes. This caller is Indian in descent and probably not in the country.
