August 15, 2013, 4:45 pm missed a call, called back and the first message was to press one for english or two for french. I pressed one and it turns out to be the MBNA Mastercard services calling to me card protection inurance so they don't hurt your credit rating and cancel your cards if something is stolen. They also some kind of unemployment or serious injury payment for you if something bad happens. Caller Company: 604-229-0711 Caller Type: Unknown

December 14, 2013, 12:27 am A weird call from MBNA Mastercard offering to send me a free credit report from equifax. The woman on the phone said they weren't trying to sell me anything. I agreed to let them send me the report, but I didn't offer them any information. So nothing to lose on my end, but block the number now anyway. December 30, 2013, 12:39 pm Very confusing conversation: woman offering to send me my credit report for free. I asked her if she was informing me of my card policy changes or trying to sell me something and she just repeated the same thing. I repeated too: ARE YOU TRYING TO SELL ME SOMETHING? She said no, only sending me an information package with my free credit report to check and make sure I am the only person with my name, and look for fraud. She said I didn't have to do anything upon receipt, the information is mine. I am unconvinced, but we'll see what arrives in the mail I guess. My hunch is it'll still end up being an "information" package signing me up for "free" credit card balance and fraud protection program which I will have to remember to cancel or some other similar garbage. August 2, 2014, 12:58 pm The caller is from "MBNA Mastercard" selling credit card insurance. I do have a MBNA Mastercard, but am not interested, I find these insurance benefits services are just a way to get more money out of people. They make millions a month if they get a fraction of their customers signed up. No way to be sure this is a legit caller. I've also seen on other sites mentioned of strange offers to see you equifax credit rating reports and they sometimes speak in spanish at first. So I am going to block this number for the future.
