They skim the cc# with automated messages about the reduced rates being a time limited offer you need to quickly take advantage of using touchtone. This could also be called the "Rachel Card Services Scam" which is very well known now in the US. The Ftc created a content a year or so ago which resulted in the new telemarketing blocking service called NoMoRobo. You can register for free to it. March 5, 2015, 1:18 pm Free credit card rate reductions or credit limit increase offers while pretending to be from your card services department for your credit card. They will ask for verification of your card number to secure the deal. This is total horse sh*t because real card services already knows who you are and wouldn't offer this until you called them and would do it instantly as you already verified yourself when calling in directly. July 2, 2015, 12:00 pm Card skimmers with clever computerized messages about lower cc rates. This is a giant con and they will most likely bill you $495 as soon as you hang up with them. They may be calling from Caribbean islands as that place is also very popular for scammers. Either way keep your personal information close to you and don't speak to these losers. July 22, 2015, 4:11 am I got an automated caller informing me of my eligibility for lower credit card rates, and then they mention how the offer is time sensitive and if I don't take advantage of it immediately that I will lose the offer. Had this call a number of time. It's all lies. Never believe a card service call with time sensitive offers like this. They have card skimmers waiting for you to input your number into the system so they can record it and bill you hundreds of dollars immediately after. July 25, 2015, 3:35 pm Best to avoid this caller. Not trustworthy at all. They record your number and use it for illegal billing. Many people get $495, $595, or even $695 bills on their card when they check their next credit card statement. This is a criminal and not the legit card services. If you want to verify then hang up immediately and call the number on the back of your card. They will tell you that this caller is a scam.
