Threats of immediate arrest or legal action if I don't cooperate with them immediately. I am not falling for this con job. October 2, 2015, 4:30 pm Fake calls from the US treasury saying that you owe them money, over $4500 in my case, and that they are about to "make executive actions" to force my arrest or litigation to reclaim the owed money. They told me I owe money to the US Tresury and that I will may face serious legal problems if I don't pay them back in a timely manner. I've heard of these scams before on the radio. They will pretend to be with the US Tresury, IRS, or some other government agency and claim that you owe money to the government. This is first and foremost a faked extortion scam. They threaten arrest or legal action if you don' t pay them; Unfortunately, this must be a big money maker because they are calling all around the country non-stop. Be careful!! November 12, 2015, 5:57 pm Same as above. An Indian-sounding man identifying himself as Steve Martin (strangely, that was the name of our former State Senator, and this most certainly was not his voice, and he wouldn't be calling from the 757 area code). This was a very threatening, and thus illegal, message, saying that by not responding it indicates that I am willfully holding back money from the US Treasury and that I'd be brought before a magistrate. First, it's all untrue and second, this is an illegal call. You cannot threaten someone like this. So I wouldn't even bother returning the call. They don't deserve a response from me, other than to maybe tell them that if they keep calling me, I'll sue THEM! Caller Company: Steve Martin Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher |
