Fake Bank of America scam that leaves door hangers on your door with this number. You know it's a scam because you can't even begin talking to anyone without giving them personal information. I don't think that is how banks operate.

I have verified with Bank of America that this is in fact the collection department for a late mortgage payment.

Interesting link though.

This caller is absolutely not Bank of America. They asked me for very personal information like SNN# and my home address. No need to call me and ask for this information. Banks don't do that in this day and age. They are too smart. Plus, they already have that info. For fraud the most you would get is someone telling you about the fraud and then asking you if you made the transaction or not so they confirm the fraud and get to work investigating the culprit. They already know everything about you.

Scam caller pretending to be from Bank of America. I knew it right away because they were asking for information that was way too personal. My bank and credit card company never calls me. I think I actally got a letter in the mail once about the fraud and then they ask me to call them about it to give them my input on the charge in question and this requires calling card service on the bank of my card so it's 100% legit conversation.

This is the number I call every month to pay my mortgage by phone, and they do ask for SS# and DOB for verification. BofA already has that info if you have a mortgage with them, and they are cross referencing to prevent fraud.

Rec'd call from this number. I told them if they can't tell me what the call is for to mail me the info. I called the number back. Said it was a debt collector. Need to provide your last 4 digits of SSN. DON'T DO IT!!! I called BofA, they said it is a scam.

this is a debt collecting Bank Of America Dept - my house is for sale - I have a legal note with all parties to pay balance (via new buyers) within 30 days - therefore my monthly pymnt is not required at this level and time - but they tell me the collection calls, multiple a day will not stop despite I am legally at end of selling the property and they see that...despicable!
