August 20, 2015, 11:16 am Person calling told me that they were contracted out by other organization to conduct charity calls. In this case the calls were for retired american veterans, but they also said they do other organizations charity drives as well. This is definitely a call centre making third party calls. I don't donate over the phone anyway from random calls. I make direct donations to charities I care about on my own. October 5, 2015, 6:57 pm I can also confirm that this caller is QVD. They were calling about charity donations to a Veterans charity for retired vets. I have never personally donated to charity on in the past and have no interest in doing so now either. This is non-profit charity call, although I can't say for sure if the caller is QVD directly calling or some third party contracted call center. Particular charity was for veterans of war. As soon as he passed me to a 2nd person wanting my CC# I told her I wasn't giving it out AND she wanted me to give her my addy to confirm. When told he is calling a BUSINESS, and to STOP CALLING, he always says, "Sorry I will update our records." Then he calls back a few hours later. He never leaves a message when he calls after hours. November 9, 2015, 10:02 am Received 2 called from this number at 8:14am and 8:18am 3 days apart' 11/6 and 11/8. They asked for Hector who is a mystery to me. I told them never to call my house again. November 14, 2015, 7:56 pm I received a call at 8:35 am from 845 228 8345 informing me that they were collecting for the Veterans and said his name was Steve. He asked if I co $30.00 or $50.00 and I would get a souvenir with his name stamped on it! Oh wow I was so excited, ha NOT! He so called transferred me to a deceitful operator that asked me for my credit card number and that's when I let them know that I wouldn't give my credit card number to anyone. Seriously?!!! I suggest going to local phone carrier website and blocking this number. The man didn't stop to take a breath. I told him I was disabled and someone should give me $. He said even a penny would help them. If this QVD is truly a charity based outfit there is little that can be done to shut him down completely, but to be calling repeatedly even after he's been denied has to be over and above the latitude granted to charities.
