Said they are certified by Microsoft and want to help me fix the virus on my computer. February 4, 2014, 10:54 pm A foreigner phoned to say I had a virus on my PC that they were detecting and that he could remove it. He said he was from Microsoft but he was not. I asked him for the phone number where I could call to verify his identity and he gave it to me. The company said they were Microtech, in no way related to Microsoft. May 24, 2016, 1:17 pm Claimed to be Techsupport company working for Microsoft. Used the ASSOC command trick to prove their validity. Asked to be given access to the desktop, then started downloading an application without my previous OK. I cancelled the download and connection. Same spiel as the March 16 call. So i got a call from tech secure and they notified me that IP address of my computer has been compromised and some malicious files had downloaded on my computer i thought that this call is from scammer but they give my personal information about my computer. June 27, 2016, 1:38 pm Received a call from Microtech. Representative stated they were getting errors from my computer. Needed autonomous access to my computer. When I identified myself as a retired law enforcement officer, they hung up. Dialect of the language was apparently eastern India or Pakistani. Calls are apparently coming from a foreign country, and is a toll free number. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION OR CONTROL to your computer. This is a "ghost call". Caller Company: Leo or Samantha. January 3, 2017, 5:31 pm I now use these calls as a form of entertainment. When they call telling me my computer is infected I ask them to provide the MAC address and password to my router and the IP address of the infected computer for verification. They are confused and return to their script. In the end, I string them along as long as possible and turn their scam on them. It's hilarious to get them "off script" and they eventually begin cursing. They way I figure it, if they are going to call I am going to have my fun with them. January 5, 2017, 1:28 pm I hear a voice from India... It's a scam. They hung up on me because they knew I was instantly on to them!! Then, whenever i can, I just keep calling that number back to try to clog up their lines, I hide my number, and still got an answer! But, poor Frankie, with the India accent, did not know what to think of me, I said I had no problems with my computer!!! He somehow, lol, thinks I do. I'm on to all of you scammers!
