I google searched Microsoft support and this was the first link on the page. I checked out the page and it seemed legit. Microsoft partner, sounds good. I called the number because my new Surface was having update issues. Within 5 minutes of talking to the tech my Surface was a brick. I followed the commands she told me and as soon as I hit apply my keyboard and touch screen became useless and I had no more function. I can't even login anymore. They transferred me to two more techs that from their questions I really doubt they had any experience dealing with this device. They were asking about blinking lights and to hit F5 button. There are no led lights or F5 buttons on this tablet. So after 1.5 hours trying to troubleshoot the keyboard issue they told me my tablet was at fault. Funny how it worked fine until they told me to mess with some settings. After talking to the supervisor there was no case number to reference and no way to contact them besides going through the same process. Furthermore I was shocked to hear him admit they are not Microsoft certified and have no affiliation with MS. Beware, do not fall for their stories on their web page, they are not partners with Microsoft.
****They followed up months afterwards with an email asking me to change my review because it said 1 word they flagged. So for the person who is reviewing, know this, I will not change my stance on your company and the tech support that was offered. I deal with technology manufactures regularly and this was by far the worst experience I have had. 1.5 hours on a tech support call and to not even have a case number is a sign of unprofessional service. Maybe you should invest more time in getting your support team experience with the devices you claim to support and less with selective censoring people who are warning others not to fall for your shady business practices

Tech Support Scam

If they had a 0-star recommendation, I'd use that, but alas I'm forced to give a glowing 1-star review for the past 15 minutes of my life that I'll never get back.

Like one of the other users, I Googled how to contact the Microsoft support team and this showed up first...I should know better, as a marketer. That's my fault.

I called anyway -- seemed legit, Microsoft Partner -- but to my chagrin someone with an indecipherable accent answered my call and led me on a wild goose chase. The reason for my call? I couldn't change my Outlook (Hotmail) password. His recommendation? (from what I could glean of his muted voice, patchy microphone and EXTREMELY hard-to-understand accent): MICROSOFT would charge me a fee to update the security on my (work) iMac.

Um. What?! No. I hung up on him before he could infiltrate my Mac or do God-knows-what.

Misrepresented as Microsoft AND unscrupulous billing practices

What I have belatedly read in these reviews is all true. When I called last year I was given the impression by them that I was dealing with Microsoft. After they identified my problems, they THEN told me that I needed to sign up for an annual contract in order to get my problems resolve, and literally twisted my arm, warned of dire consequences if I didn't sign up, and intimidated me into paying them. Then, this morning, I realized that at the end of my contract, they had begun billing me monthly. The first statement that I received telling me that I was being billed was today and informed me that they had billed me already. Then I discovered that it had been happening for three months! They claim that they sent me similar messages each month, but if they had, I would have reacted just as I did today, by calling them.
If you do business with them, be sure to read the fine print, read every word of every message that they send you, and if you do not want to end up making monthly payments after the year you sign up for, make a calendar entry to contact them to cancel their services at the end of the year..
