April 21, 2015, 11:01 pm The caller is "Ascension Point Collection Agency" and they were calling to collect money owed by my dead husband, but the problem is my husband is still alive. They tried to ask more questions from me to verify my husband's identity, but I refused to answer and instead asked them questions. They refused to answer and hung up. May 15, 2015, 2:38 am Very odd calls from a collection agency called Ascension Point Collection which is regarding people's deceased family members. Not sure if this is a legit debt collector or not, but all the research seems to point to debt collection calls for dead people. June 30, 2015, 9:50 am I got a letter from these people and a few phone calls as well. Doesn't seem to be a legit debt collection company. They were calling about my brothers debt. They make fake letters to give the appearance of being a real creditor. Don't fall for it. If they are a legal company then they are not acting legal. Ascension Point is the name on the letter. These calls are for debt payments related to those expenses as I couldn't handle all the debts in cash. Repeat calls. They are named Ascension Point Collection. These are full-out scammers, trying to illegally collect money from the living relatives of dead people. I had a husband who abandoned me and my son years ago and left me destitute. He took everything of any value. Wiped me clean. His mother died in 2015. Ascension Point called ME - of all people! - about the dead mother's debts. April 7, 2016, 11:55 am My mother recently passed and ascention point called about collection of a debt. Ironically, her payments are not late as she recently passed. We have allready contacted her debtors and have reached a settlement with with them. We called them and were told ithey had not contacted anyone about collections. Ascension poin5 are scum trying to benefit from a persons grief, not actual debts owed. Our lawyers said if they persist it will end bad for them , not for us. Good lawyers are so worth the price.

April 21, 2016, 7:02 pm This number called my step-son and left a message about my father who passed away recently. My step-son obviously has no blood relation or name similarity to my father. I suspect this 'company' (and I use that term lightly) uses public records to find the recently deceased, looks them up on social media to find their contacts, then goes back to public records to lookup those contacts' phone numbers. Or they have software that does all that for them. Opportunistic vultures is what these people (another loosely used term) are. If they want to buy written-off debt for pennies on the dollar, than that's their risk. Don't harass people grieving the loss of a loved one! July 20, 2016, 2:34 pm Someone who is good at reporting scam companies should really report these people. They called and left a message about my father's estate. He passed away two years ago, and I know for a fact has his estate in order and is now in my mom's hands with trusted advisers.

December 6, 2016, 8:42 pm A lady from ascension point called me looking to collect a debt from my deceased step-father. He died over two years ago & I knew his probate was settled & bills were paid. I was suspicious & told them I have no idea about any of his financials. Around the same time my father who obviously has no relation to my step father got the same call with a male inquiring about financial issues. January 13, 2017, 1:21 pm Received a call from these so called people concerning my EX-husband. Told them I wasn't responsible. Asked them how they got my name and number----they wouldn't answer. Two weeks later received a letter to his estate at my address! Called and told them I was not responsible, stop harassing me, next call would be from my attorney! These people are low-lives.
