August 31, 2013, 5:02 pm Got a call and lady asked for "pearl" I told her she had the wrong number. She said that they are calling everyone in the area and if she can have my mailing address so I can receive an envelop to send them money for donations " children with cancer" . Even though exempt from the DNC rules, if you tell them not to call you they must remove. May 20, 2016, 4:32 pm How rude these ppl are. They call at first using the "Children's Cancer Fundraising" ploy, and then they spoof their Caller ID number. Of course, they don't bother leaving a message as it is sooooooooooooo important to reach you, you know?! GrannyCee made a report to the DNC list; do the same. June 17, 2016, 10:56 am WHAT TO DO: IF you don't recognize the number, DO NOT let it go to Voicemail. Then they KNOW it's a live number, which is all they need to SELL your number on a list. BEST thing to do is answer any number you don't recognize and BE SILENT. Within 3 seconds, maybe 5 seconds, the robot-dial machine will read that as a dead end # and will NOT send it on for sale. If it's a person you know, they will say "hello" or you will hear background noise, or they will call you right back thinking there's a problem with your phone.
