July 23, 2016, 7:47 am Received a call from this number purportedly from Davidson, Larry. Caller said he was "David" from Microsoft and that he was calling to let me know they detected a "virus" on my computer. They wanted me to go to my computer. July 27, 2016, 3:40 pm They called me today saying they worked for Windows and wanted to help me with my computer. I asked them for their information. The person got nervous and called his supervisor. His supervisor began shouting vulgarities and curse words at me in a thick Indian accent. It was somewhat humorous to hear him. Needless to say, this is a scam and a very poor quality outsourced one at that. I would advise having nothing to do with them. If you're bored you can ask to speak with the angry guy with a thick accent for some laughs. Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

July 28, 2016, 4:13 pm On Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 12:30 p.m., I received a call from a Larry Davidson who claimed to be a "Windows IT tech." Caller had a thick East Indian accent and proceeded to ask for access to my computer, but I interrupted him saying, "Oh yeah? Well, I have a Max. How's that?" With that, he hung up. Filed complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, so they now have his number for what it's worth. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1 It should be common knowledge that Microsoft, Dell or any other company does not randomly call people. If something is wrong with your computer--you call them, they don't call you. But apparently there are people who don't know this, so the scam artists come a-calling with their scams. August 3, 2016, 3:31 pm "we've noticed a virus..." A few months ago, as I was re-installing windows, I received a call from a scammer claiming to be from Windows saying my product key had expired. I fell for it! Let them onto my computer and they hijacked it demanding money. Called the real Microsoft and had to pay a technician to fix the mess. Microsoft does not call customers.
