Scammers that will claim to be from either Bell Canada or Rogers Canada and will offer you new promotional packages for TV, Internet, and Phone. They may confidently say that they see that you already have some of these services or all and then offer the special package. I have one service, but not all so I felt that was evidence of this being a scammer.

Caller claims to be a Duct Cleaning company and the person calling me was a male with an Indian accent. To me any callers these days with an Indian accent can';t be taken seriously as there is simply too much fraud happening.

Came in as "Unassigned" but the CID record had the #. Did not answer it, but didn't notice anyone above that reported it appearing as "Unassigned"....probably a new tactic by these low life scum.

Car insurance sales. I did recently fill out an online form for car insurance with allstate so that may be how my number was sold. Will not buy insurance off a phone offer and will still be trying to get car insurance form a reputable dealer which I will call myself. Not humoring any offers from phone sales as that a sure way to get crappy insurance.

Another pc tech virus fixing scam. Indian accented voices. Males. Very rude if you resist them trying to remote access your computer. I pretended to be a network admin who could fix the problem with lines like "It's ok I'm a trained administrator so I'll take care of it" and they got very angry at me telling me that I was to blame for the infection and would have to live with it now with a screwed up computer. Little kids.

The caller was "American Chimney Services" and they want to sell me chinney cleaning services which is obvious by the name. This might be a scam, but I have no way to verify. I suspect a scam as I rarely hear about chimney services these days. Most chimneys are in wealthy's people's houses aren't they. Or very old houses??? Seems odd for mass calling offers.

This was a text from someone who was pretending to buy something off me from kijiji and they overpaid on the shipping with the paypal order. I checked my paypal account and nothing showed up. The paypal email was fake. Big time scammer here. Don't trust it.

Calls for payday loan offers. Generally these calls are illegal. I believe you need a physical store location to give people loans as well as needing a lender's license. Phone fraud is too rampid and too easy. You need to see the person in person and get id, etc. Beware of anyone offering loans over the phone.

Telemarketing caller. Pre-approved offers for Scotiabank visa credit cards. I am currently banking with Scotiabank, but don't have a card with their bank. I will consider the offer, but I already have a credit card from another bank so I am not sure I will need this second card.

Never had a Bell Canada account so this bill collection attempt is very unusual and suspicious to me. I will not give them any personal information and will not take this collection attempt serious until I see some kind of official documentation that clearly describes this debt. Worst case scenario is that someone used my information to create and account, but I highly doubt this is the case.
Posted: August 28, 2015, 12:34 pm
A junk debt collector trying to collect debts that are well past the statue of limitations. There is nothing they can do if you don't offer to assist them or stupidly choose to be honest with them. Just ignore and this go away. They will not want to waste too much money of people who are not easy to trick into making payments.

Have gotten lots of calls from this number. If you try to call the number back you get recording saying it does not take calls.

Called my cell phone 3 times this week. Does not leave a message. Have them listed as "Block This Caller" on my cell phone along with 4 other numbers. Next time I might just blow a whistle into the phone.

Midland Credit which from my research is a number of other parents companies involved with this debt collection that involves over 2000 people in India as employees. So it's a big time junk debt collection scheme and if you didn't get an official letter stating your debts clearly then ignore all debt collection calls.

The caller was a fraudster that pretends to be involved with card services. They won't say the name of the specific credit card you own, just "card services." The point of the call is to skim or steal your credit card number by faking a time limited offer for reduced credit card rates which requires you to enter your # into the phone. They bill you approx $495 immediately after and hope you won't catch it on your next statement. Some people don't.

Received a call from this number stating they were High Point Assets looking for someone I know to send them a required document. The automated caller said if I knew where the person was I was to call them immediately to let them know of their where abouts.

Claims that my computer has a virus and want me to connect to a service that will allow them to remote control my computer so they can fix it for me - for free no less. What they will try to do after you allow them access to your computer so they can infect it, then will demand a credit card to fix it. I can not believe the FTC or phone companies can not do a better job of shutting these people down. I have been getting calls from this same number with the same scam for at least ... Read More

Good luck blocking the number. If the number is FAKE all you did was block a bogus number. The REAL number goes untouched. Anyway, who would fall for this obvious scam?? Try wasting as much of their time as you can. When they know you will not take the bait, maybe they will move on to another person and leave you alone!!

same as everyone else posting here, got a cal claiming to be wells fargo needing to update my address. I also dont have wells fargo, but decided i'd see what they were up to, so i called back from a prepaid phone i use for craigslist transactions.
couldn't get anyone to answer ever, so i figure i would have to call back with my main number. not worth it, so no call back.

Some loser calling to tell me that something was wrong with my computer and that he needed to remotely fix it for me free of charge. He said my ip address has registered a virus on their monitors and that's why he was calling. He needed to fix the virus to stop further network infection. All lies.

Caller is "Scarborough Research" and they are calling to conduct a survey about tv viewing habits. They will want to confirm your name, age, and your home address. The survey is most yes and no answers and will complete very quickly.

First got a call from an unidentified #. He fumbled for the first 10 seconds of the call, then said he was from Microsoft calling about my computer and paused for awhile. When I said "yes and what about it?" he repeated himself. I told him he was obviously a scammer who should quite while he was ahead, and said I would report his number, then hung up. Got a call back immediately from #800-845-6565, and upon pickup, heard the same voice call me a bitch. At which point I hung up again.

This is a junk debt collection agency called midland credit management and they buy junk debt that is almost impossible to collect for next to nothing and then make massive calling campaigns to threaten people to get as many people to be honest a possible. When you buy the debt contracts for almost nothing this becomes a very profitable business. Even 1% collections or less is big money for them.

Some loser scammer told me he was from Homeland Security and that if I didn't send me $1000 through western union that I would be charged with obstructing justice. Very unusual call and obviously a scam. Local deputy confirmed that this is a scam. Beware.

The caller was "Total Credit Recovery" and they were calling about an ol dunpaid rogers bill. I left rogers a while ago for bad service problems and refused to pay the bill so they they hound me for the payments they say I owed for the bad service. Not getting a dime from me. Sorry, bad service deserves to not be paid for. Earn your money, rogers!!

Absolutely shady company! Called, (said calls recorded) asked how to get a hold of ..... (not me). I didn't know who this person was. Caller told me I was listed as Emergency contact for said person & something happened that he needed to be informed of & he'd want to know about it. They cannot get a hold of him.... Asked if they were sure my name & number were the correct info for the emergency contact. He gave my full name including middle name & repeated my number & once again stated this person listed me as the #1 emergency contact.

I did receive almos the exact VM when I returned from vacation, and I was very skeptical of the caller/number. So I called the main phone number on the back of my CC, and explained to them the situation. I was then transferred to (and give the 855-255-0613) same number as BOA's faudulent direct line. So it's valid, just FYI. Call BOA and verify yourself.

Never do anything these people say on a computer. These folks are so full of ignorance. A scam to say the least, looking to do bad things to innocent people. I can only hope they get what they deserve.

The caller is Live Giving Moments and this is a long time non-profit charity group that has now reached tax exempt status in the US. They will call with a computer (not even willing to pay real people) and ask survey questions which may just be a way to sucker you into a donatin at the end of the call.

This caller phone me to tell me that they were calling me because I had filled out a form on a online website for weight loss. I told them that this was not true and I had no idea who they were and didn't want to talk to them any further. Had an Indian accent.

Lame tech support scammers. They had Indian accents. Geek Squad fakers. They are not with Geek Squard or Microsoft or any other big company they claim. It's all the same criminal call centre in India paying poor Indians to defraud and mislead the people they call that they are a real tech support line. Use a block. They got apps and devices that are easy to use for this nowadays.

Calls are for fundraising for charities and hospitals. The message was automated and gave me the option to press 1 to be removed. I have never donated through this " Direct Line Tech" service before and have no plans to in th future. Never heard of them.

I am getting calls from Scotiabank about pre-approved visa cards. I have also recently used my mobile with the scene card so it may very well be the reason that these calls are starting. I am getting calls from other businesses as well at rate that is unusual for my number.

Same as above - just called me and said they were getting error messages from Windows. When I told him to give me my Windows ID, he read some long number to me. When I told him we have Macbooks...he hung up. Was rude as well.

I am getting one or two calls each day from this number (plus other unidentified calls).I am on the DNC list. I think they got my number (land line)from a false ad I found about applying for a Chase Bank Slate card. Today is the 2nd time I've gotten a call from this number, 800 845 6565. 1st time I answered. I was told the geek squad was calling and that my computer has a virus and they need to access my computer remotely. I told the person (very heavy accent) that I don't own a computer, and that he must have a wrong number. This annoyed him. He didn't know what to say. Today I just didn't bother to answer the call. I got a call from "High Point Asset" and they said that I was a "person of interest" that needed to be spoken to about an important matter." I am quite confident that I have no debts that need to be collected so I suspect that this might be a scam. I can't be 100% sure.

I got an automated called that told me that they had received a fax that instructed them to pursue me legally for check fraud (2 counts) and they wanted me to call them back with a case number. They said they were retained by the person they say I owe money to in order to show up at my home or workplace. This is nonsense. I will ignore this until I am sued which will never happen. Most debt collection is a joke anyway that you can write off.

The person was from IHG Holiday Inn Rewards and wanted to conduct a phone survey. They have information about me from passed visits and they said I could get a free weekend stay if I participated in the survey. I didn't want to waste my time so I hung up.

Just got a call from them about 1/2 hour ago from (800-845-6565). Strong accent like others reported. Sounded more E European to me but could have been Indian. They said they were from Geek Squad. I asked them several times "what computer are you referring too?" and they said "your computer" . Then I asked them "then who am I" until they hung up. Knew it was a scam pretty quickly since I do all my computer stuff and never used a service.
